WUHU, China — Chery Automobile will unveil a battery of new models next week at the 2008 Beijing Auto Show, including a family of small cars that carry the Faira nameplate.
In what appears to be a new naming convention for Chery, the Faira models will add a double letter after the name. Thus, the company will offer such products as the Faira BB, the Faira HH, the Faira JJ, the Faira NN and the Faira YY.
The Faira BB is an entry-level hatchback. The Faira HH is a tiny four-door sedan. The Faira JJ is a compact crossover. The Faira NN is a five-door companion to the BB. The Faira YY is a sporty three-door.
At the show, Chery plans to display nearly 30 concept and production vehicles, as well as its latest developments in technology, including electric, hybrid, flex-fuel and hydrogen power plants.
