BEIJING — China's FAW Group is planning to unveil a battery of new products at the upcoming 2008 Beijing Auto Show, among them a new midsize sedan known so far only by its code name: B131.

The B131 appears to be about the size of the Accord and Camry. FAW already markets a midrange sedan, built on the Mazda 6 chassis, called the Besturn.

FAW will release more details on the car at the Beijing show. In the meantime, company officials have announced plans to invest $300 million in a new production facility to build the B131 in 2009.
