Subject: Kudos!
From: Ilija
You guys are by far the most unbiased car Web site/magazine in the USA. Reading other Web sites/magazines (Car and Driver, Road & Track, Cars.com, etc.), I notice how biased they are to certain car brands. Also your car tests have a well-balanced mix of information. It seems that you know what you are doing.

A number of my friends are car guys and we all agree that info that comes from your Web site is the most trustworthy. Sometimes we laugh when reading reviews from other magazines/Web sites.

Many thanks for your feedback! We love hearing from our readers, and we're glad you appreciate our coverage. — Ed.

Subject: Best Gas
From: Joe
I just purchased a Mazda 3. What brand of gas is best to use? Shell? WAWA? Citgo? Sunoco?

Thanks for your question. We invite you to read this article:"Do You Really Need Premium? And Answers to Other Gasoline Questions."

The article features commentary from automotive experts, and provides insight into the differences that exist between gas offered by various gas stations. Here's an excerpt from the article:

"Typically the only difference is the additive package they put in the gas," [Dr. Loren] Beard [senior manager of Environmental and Energy Planning for Chrysler] said. The additive package is often put into the gas as the tanker is filled up at the refinery. A common additive is a detergent agent. "The law requires a certain level of detergents in gasoline. Shell, for example, is putting in more detergent — Whether that has a measurable effect to the driver is debatable."

Subject: Ford Freestyle
From: Ellen
My Freestyle is the nicest vehicle I've owned so far, which includes my Silhouette, my Taurus and my Accord. I disagree with your review. I feel that acceleration is great, and this baby just wants to run. I can average about 25-plus mph on the open highway. But I wonder why it is that even though I bought the car in October, I have seen only one other Freestyle on the eastern seaboard. Why is that?

The Freestyle was a disappointment for Ford in terms of sales, and it was discontinued in model-year 2007 after being on the market for just two years. This is likely why you haven't seen many of them on the road.

Note that the Freestyle was replaced in the Ford lineup by the Taurus X. We've published a model review of the Taurus X, in case you're interested. Rumor has it that the Taurus X is set to be discontinued as well, with some sources saying the axe could fall as early as 2009. — Ed.

Subject: Family Vehicles With Entertainment Systems
From: Russell
I'm trying to research the best vehicle with an entertainment system for an active family with kids in sports. We travel almost every weekend and there are usually six people. Does Edmunds publish a list of family vehicles with entertainment systems?

You can use our faceted search tool to find vehicles with entertainment systems, as well as other features. To use this tool, visit our new cars index page. Then, select a category to be researched and a price range. You'll then be taken to a page that has a number of search choices in a navigation bar to the left of the page. Select one of these choices to filter your search.

Subject: Sporty SUVs
From: Derek
Great Web site with video! I am interested in a mid- to full-size SUV with sports-carlike handling and performance. The wife has a bad back and as such, the Corvette is out of the question. Audi's Q7 looks great and I have seen many on the road here in Palm Beach County, Florida. Currently, I own the 2004 Nissan Pathfinder Armada. For my next SUV, I'd like to place an emphasis on creature comforts. What do you recommend?

The Q7 is a great choice. For the sportiest handling, choose a Premium model equipped with adaptive air suspension. Be sure to read our Q7 model review.

An even more performance-oriented choice is the Porsche Cayenne; check out our Porsche Cayenne model review. The Cayenne offers sports car handling that's every bit as engaging as you'd expect from a vehicle bearing the Porsche name.

Good luck with your purchase! — Ed.

Subject: Domestic Dispute
From: Rich
I was reading an article in which Philip Reed endorsed the Honda and Toyota minivans, stating they get 19 mpg. What's wrong with the new minivans from Chrysler? Both the Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Caravan have superior features such as stow-and-go seating, swivel seats, etc. and feature a 4.0 engine with a six-speed transmission. I currently get 27 on the highway and 19 in the city. It would be nice if Edmunds.com was fair and objective and gave the American car companies credit where credit is due.

We actually have some good things to say about domestic minivans. In our review of the Town & Country, we call it "one of the best minivans available." And we've said that the current Dodge Grand Caravan "reclaims its spot as a top-tier minivan." Be sure to check out our full model reviews of the Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan to get the full story on these vehicles. — Ed.
