Whenever I bring my '06 Cobalt LT Sedan to the dealer for an oil change they always set my tires to 35psi even though the doorjam says they should be 30psi. Same thing happens at Discount Tire. I went for a rotation and they set the tires to 35psi and said it was better at that level. I'm confused-what psi do you guys keep your 'Balt at? Also my car is riding horribly. It almost feels like my shocks/struts have no fluid in them, its that rough over bumps. Also, now my car doesnt even handle properly-it feels tippy around turns where it used to at least handle well (kinda made up for the rough ride!). Also, on the Freeway here in SD the car has terrible back and forth action on the grooved freeways (brand new Michelins did not help at all). I am very dissapointed in the way the car is riding. Its really the only thing that bothers me about the car, but, hey, thats a pretty big issue.

One thing I don't understand. Is he making more or less in Indiana than he was in SD. They gave him a raise over what he was making here in San Diego. Plus he only drives 4 miles to work and rent is half of what he paid here for a lot bigger apartment. Taxes are cheaper and so is gas and utilities. I think he was making $45k a year here as an IT person.

"....My son in law was moved from San Diego to Indiana. They gave him a small raise. His cost of living is about half of what it was here in San Diego. So he is starting to get ahead after 6 months." One thing I don't understand. Is he making more or less in Indiana than he was in SD.

"One disappointing aspect was an AUX plug to connect an mp3 player, not an Ipod." What does that mean? An Ipod is one brand of MP3 player. Does the Ipod have a unique connection? You can connect an ipod to any of these mini-jack plugs and play your ipod fine, but you have to control the player manually, on the player itself. What people want is the ability to control their ipod through the stereo without having to touch the player. This requires a special connector (20 pin I think) that the ipod can hook up to a computer. Lots of cars are starting to come out with this, on a new car it is an expected feature at this point. Ford (yeah, Ford) has had this for a while now. Why this is a problem for Toyota is a mystery to me, or why there is no slot for an SD card so you can load a bunch of songs up and use that instead. I don't get it, this isn't dificult to do, and I don't see why this kind of an easy technology addition isn't seen as a value added item to Toyota.

'07 sport auto 3400 miles in 7 days--36mpg
by dadof6 on Thu Nov 20 05:08:57 PST 2008
Trip from SD to NY at an averaged of 36mpg. Speeds of 80mph over 750miles in SD, 75mph over 350miles in MN, 75mph over 450 miles in IA and 65-70mph the rest of the way. This on pure gasoline. The pumps were labeled "contains up to 10% ethonal" until we got to to PA so we knew what we were getting. I have found over the years my fuel mileage drops about 5% when using blended fuel which reinforces what others have said here so I avoid it on long trips. BTW-drove through 2 wet snow storms averaging about 40mph over 100 miles. We got 41mpg over 3 tanks of fuel running at the lower speeds. On A Strange Note--we filled up 3 times & got 11.4,11.7 & 11.7 gals in the tank with the low fuel light on just 1 of those times. Tank holds 10.8 per owners manual.
